The Music Company is a ministry that has been established to equip, empower & release young musicians & bands in the pursuit of their God given callings.
YWAM Music Toowoomba is passionate about discipling, equipping, empowering and releasing musicians, bands, individuals and teams into their God given callings.
To help us in the pursuit of our ‘mission’, we have recently established a new ministry called the Music Company. Although it is in it’s early days, we have high hopes for this ministry and all that the Lord desires to do in and through it.
The Music Company has been created for all those who feel a call to music ministry. This ministry is also open to those who have a passion to support and run alongside of musicians. Artist managers, booking agents, sound engineers, producers, graphic designers & event managers (to name but a few) are all welcome.
In regards to ministry, we hope to build strong support teams and create solid opportunities for musicians, to help them to be more effective in the pursuit of their calling. This could mean anything from providing musicians with professional equipment & facilities and creating websites for them, to raising money for their projects (i.e. kickstarter.com), booking tours, setting up outreaches, sending teams overseas, connecting musicians to the already existing ministries here in Toowoomba, allowing staff to work part-time as interns for Easterfest (Australia’s largest Christian music festival) or opening a cafe for the purpose of live performances and open mic nights. The possibilities here for ministry are endless and will be as unique as the individuals that the Lord sends our way to serve.
Advocating for various frontline ministries (Destiny Rescue, Compassion etc) is very much on the heart of YWAM Music Toowoomba. You can see the Lord at work now in the area of artist advocacy – thousands of musicians are pursuing there craft, but are also using their platform to raise awareness about various needs overseas. Although not a requirement, we would love to see musicians from the Music Company have this same desire to make a difference in the lives of those that don’t often have the power (or voice) to do so themselves.
YWAM Music Toowoomba has a strong call to South East Aisa, specifically Thailand and Cambodia. In regards to advocacy, we feel called as a ministry to help support young girls that have been rescued from the sex trade industry (very common in these nations). We specifically want to see how we can partner with Destiny Rescue, an Australian based ministry that works with the girls in various safe homes & orphanages around Thailand & Cambodia.
As you can see, we have lots of vision for this ministry but it’s in it’s early stages. We are now accepting staff applications for anyone who has completed a DTS and is keen to partner with our ministry to see this vision become a reality.
